What owners ask before they order
Do I have to sort the bills first?
No. In MDC (mixed denomination) mode you drop an unsorted stack of $1s, $5s, $10s, $20s, $50s and $100s into the hopper. The screen shows how many bills went through and the exact total, and the DETAIL button shows how many of each bill made it up.
Which currencies does it count?
US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian dollars and Mexican pesos. Switch between them with the CUR button.
How does it catch fake bills?
Every note passes ultraviolet (UV), magnetic ink (MG) and infrared (IR) checks, plus size, half-note, chained-note and double-note detection. A suspect bill is flagged so you can pull it before it goes into the deposit.
What's the second display for?
It faces your customer and shows the same piece count and total as the main screen, so the person paying or collecting cash sees the count too.
Can it print the count?
KOUNTR is printer-enabled and has a PRINT button. A printer isn't included in the box.
What happens if a bill jams?
Square the stack and pull out paper clips, rubber bands and folded corners before it goes in. Heavily taped, torn or wet bills are best counted by hand. If a bill catches, clear it, set the stack back in the hopper and run it again. A counter that keeps jamming on normal bills is covered by the 1-year warranty.
Will it flag real bills that are just old?
A flag means the bill needs a closer look. Worn or older bills can trip the sensors. Pull the flagged bill, check it by hand, and run the rest of the stack. If good bills keep getting flagged, email kountrsupport@gmail.com and we'll work through it with you.
Does it need cleaning?
Dust building up on the sensors is what makes a counter start misreading over time. If you count every day, wipe the sensors with a cleaning sponge every week or two and keep the counter covered overnight. The Care Kit has a dust cover and sensor-cleaning sponges.
Is it loud?
It runs quietly enough for a front counter, and it has a silencer setting that turns the beeps off.
What if it stops working or breaks?
Every KOUNTR has a 1-year warranty. If it fails from a defect in parts or workmanship within a year of delivery, we repair or replace it, and the replacement ships free. Email kountrsupport@gmail.com with your order number and a short video of the problem, and a person replies within 1 business day. In the first 30 days you can also return it for a full refund for any reason.
